Frankenstein’s Monster
Does it get more iconic than the monster created by Victor Frankenstein in Mary Shelley's novel? Known for its non-human appearance with large stitches across the forehead and pale green-yellow skin, Frankenstein’s monster is a Halloween classic! To create this Frankenstein cosplay, @charrar.b chose the Angry Hulk Green Colored Lenses. These ivy green lenses with a black cracking or vein effect are a great option to enhance the power of your character.
If you would like to create a similar look for your own Halloween costume this year, you can grab the essentials alongside your contact lenses from Funky Lenses, too! To create your own Frankenstein makeup look, you’ll need to produce a skin color similar to @charrar.b; try mixing the Paintglow Green and Yellow Face and Body Paint. Alternatively, you could mix the green and yellow shades from the Mehron SFX Paradise Makeup AQ in the Tropical palette. To create the deep-set creases and wrinkles that play an essential part in this Frankenstein costume diy makeup, use either a fine brush and black face paint, or you could use the Paintglow Dracula Black Face Paint Stick.
Using a black eyeshadow or powder makeup of your choice, highlight and contour the areas of the face to create a weathered result; areas such as the cheekbones, forehead, under the eyes, and on the chin have been particularly focused on by @charrar.b. You can’t finish your Frankenstein monster makeup without the stitching effect on the forehead! To create this, @charrar.b has used black, white and gray face paint to complete this important feature. Create six stitches across the forehead using the Mehron Monster Gray SFX Color Cup; these should be an upright rectangular shape, and add a blended rough black outline around each of these. Finish the stitches with some highlight effects using the Paintglow UV Face and Body Paint in white and a small brush. In between each of these staple-like stitches, create the appearance of a hollow opening using black face paint and highlight the edges using your chosen black face powder.
Complete your look with a short cut black wig, and if you’re not quite ready to commit to the body paint like @charrar.b, choose a dark high-neck top and blazer for your costume. The Angry Hulk Green Colored Contact Lenses are a great fit for this powerful creature and are sure to make a lasting impression at your Halloween event!
Wrapped Mummy
This Halloween, try out this iconic classic look: Mummy Halloween makeup. Use your creative talents to transform into this ancient and haunting character that is bound to leave others in awe on the night of your Halloween event! @charrar.b created an awesome version of this classic figure, and in our opinion, we don’t see enough of this iconic costume during the Halloween season anymore, so this year might just be the one! To complete this look, @charrar.b chose to add the UV Glow Cosplay Yellow Lenses from our latest contact lens additions. These vibrant yellow UV contact lenses feature a mottled effect that fits perfectly with the aged aesthetic of this look, whilst the vivid glow provides a possessed appearance.
Why not transform into this unexpected, yet classic monster this Halloween and follow in the footsteps of this Mummy face makeup by @charrar.b? Starting with your base, create a smooth finish using your regular concealer and foundation. To frame the glowing effect of the UV contact lenses, use a hazel brown-toned eyeshadow to create a smoky eye; bring this color down beneath the water line too and blend this to produce a smudged result. Finish this off by applying mascara to lengthen the lashes and open the eyes.
Now onto the fun part of this Mummy makeup. Using brown face paint, create the outlines of bandages across your face and down your neck to produce an unraveling result; we like to use the Mehron SFX Color Cup in Wolfman Brown as the color is perfect for creating that aged effect. Once you have your outlines, fill the space with white face paint and roughly top with a light brown or skin color product; this could be either a face paint or a light foundation of your choice. By applying the lighter tone over the top, you enhance the appearance of aging even more! Using a dark brown powder, create the appearance of creases and folds on your drawn-on bandages. Once you are happy with the appearance of your bandages, complete your look with a deep blood red lip.
Add to your ancient mummy costume by applying bandages to the top of your head, which you can age with the help of makeup! Add brown edges to your bandages and apply deep-colored staining to enhance this effect. These could be secured by glueing onto a head cap and slipped over the head; add hair from a wig or extensions around the lower part, or keep it simple with no hair at all! Over a light-colored underlayer, wrap bandages to create your homemade mummy costume and allow your bright yellow eyes to pop!
Vampire Chic
Be the shadow in the night and become one of the deadliest creatures this Halloween with this beautiful yet demonic vampire makeup look. This Gothic vampire makeup by @charrar.b embodies the chic aesthetic of these creatures that we see so often on the screen, but also holds an element of terror! To complete this look, @charrar.b has used the Twilight Volturi Red Cosplay Lenses to enhance the blood thirst in this makeup look and also captures the evil personality of this creature.
To create a similar vampire makeup Halloween version of this look by @charrar.b, let’s talk about the base first! Vampires are known for their pale and porcelain-like skin, making this an essential part of this makeup look. Start with either a very pale foundation, or you could use a small amount of white face paint, such as the Paintglow UV Face and Body Paint in white, and blend this out over the face, down the neck and onto the chest. Once your base is the correct color, set this with a translucent powder. With a darker-toned powder such as black or gray, lightly contour the cheekbones and nose to create a chiselled effect; this can also be applied on the jawline to really snatch the makeup look! Now that your base is complete, move on to your eyes. In this look, the eye makeup brings the drama alongside those striking Volturi Vampire contact lenses! Firstly, create a black smoky cat eye effect using a dark black eye shadow of your choice that sits both on the top lid and comes down underneath the eye too. Once the shape is formed, create a deep red outline all the way around your smoky black cat eye and be sure to blend this out. Finish your eyes with a pair of fluffy, thick eyelashes!
To complete your vampire costume makeup, you’ll need a bold red lip. Choose a blood-red tone and pair this with a black lip liner; blend the lip liner onto the lip before applying your lipstick to create a smooth outline. Add a dribble of blood to the corner of your mouth using either the Paintglow Red Fake Blood or the Mehron Fake Stage Blood for a glossy effect!
Accessorize your vampire Halloween costume with dark elements such as a black lace choker necklace similar to the one @charrar.b has painted on herself, and long black press-on nails. Don’t forget your fangs! Every striking vampire needs a pair of fangs to truly terrify their next meal.
